Continuation of Chapter 1
So... Today we had to show rough cuts of our current project for my Digital Cinema class. As of yesterday afternoon, I hadn't actually shot any footage due to some difficulties getting a camera and actors together at the same time. So last night I shot footage, captured it (which had some "fun" technical difficulties), edited the clips together, and threw in a fancy plain-text ad done using LiveType. I was up till 6 AM. No writing for me yesterday, no sirree.
However, there's a couple of paragraphs I talked on to chapter one the day before yesterday. I'm getting tired of these scenes, so I think I'll move on to more fun stuff. :)
Etana left the inn to visit Father Brum. She found him tending the graves, pulling away the worst of the weeds that had grown in the recent spring rains. "Father Brum?"
He rose slowly, straightening out and rubbing his back. "Yes, child?"
"Moren is really sick. He collapsed in the kitchen today."
"That is unfortunate, but I'm sure with Leera taking care of him --"
"I think he's cursed."
"What?"
"Two days ago he found a gold ring in the woods. He wanted to give it to me, but I didn't want to accept something so valuable. So he decided to hide it. When I visited him today, he was wearing the ring. I tried to take it off, but it was too cold to hold."
"Hmmm." Father Brum leaned against one of the gravestones and rubbed his beard. "That does indeed sound unnatural."
"I think the ring is the only explanation for why he fell ill so suddenly. I don't know why he would wear it. I think it has something to do with the stranger who came by yesterday..."
"Let us not leap to conclusions, child. The stranger was indeed odd, But I don't see why he would have cursed your Moren."
"Because of the ring."
Father Brum sighed. "I suppose I shall have to look into this myself." He rose and brushed off his pants. "Shall we?"
